Skelmersdale, Lancashire
Salary Circa £26k 

This really is an exceptional opportunity for a Site Co-ordinator with relevant experience to join an outstanding and growing organization within the food industry. 

To provide the site with a health and safety resource, focused on delivering targets set to meet the needs of the business and its employees.

Ensuring all relevant policies and procedures are in place and practiced in line with legislative requirements in a cost-effective manner. 

Robust audit processes and KPI’S will be in place to measure effectiveness and drive improvements. Training and development of staff to drive awareness, improving trends need to be achieved in near miss reporting and accident reduction as part of our ambition and culture to drive Zero lost time injury occurrences.

Reporting to the UK Health & Safety Manager your role responsibilities will include:

•Providing advice and communicate to employee(s) to enable compliance to relevant H&S legislation. Ensuring all legislation, directives, procedures, and specifications are met.
•Champion the health and safety function, and safe working practices across the company
•Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required.
•Co-ordination and conducting of risk assessments. Review, support and prepare required risk assessment and methods statements. 
•Safety walks and audits, ccarry out regular inspections of sites and workplaces to determine if the work is in line with company policies.
•Carry out site induction and compliance reports
•Carry out Accident investigation with departmental managers 
•Facilities Management support to include, Fire alarm testing/recording, Fire equipment inspection/records, Statutory inspections - coordination.
•Compile and manage a Non-conformance database to reduce Non-conformances, analysing the data to highlight areas for improvement, driving actions plans to complete
•Develop, deliver, and evaluate health and safety training requirements for all staff in line with legislative and strategic business requirements.
•Lead and coordinate a site Health and Safety Champions group, with daily interaction, coaching and educating to drive awareness and improve near miss reporting.
•Liaison with local and national HSE authority, managing non-compliance or site visits.
•COSHH database is maintained.
To be considered for this role we require the following skills, qualifications and experience:
Ideally you will be qualified in a suitable Health and Safety discipline and possess the following skills:
•IOSH Managing Safely- Minimum
•A passion for Health and Safety
•Excellent organisations, communication, and time management skills
•Effective communication skills and ability to influence others
•Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office suite
