Role:      Mix Plant Manager
Location:    Prospect Place, East Pimbo, Skelmersdale, Lancashire, WN8 9QD
Salary:        £40k per annum 
We are currently looking to recruit a Mix Plant Manager, responsible for the management of an automated SCADA controlled ice cream / fruit juice mixing plant at our Leeming site.

As a Mix Plant Manager you’ll need: 

•Experience of a bulk blending processing, CIP operation, sauce and coating plant in order to optimise output and meet quality, food safety, cost and efficiency targets.
•Committed to change with open mind and logical approach for improvement 
•Demonstrate strong leadership to manage the supervisory mixing team, process controllers and gantry/CIP operatives. 
•Manage training & skills development within the team in all aspects of the mixing operation to deliver output and quality objectives against key KPI’s such as quality, efficiency and waste.
•Organise the team and able to provide the cover/adequate staffing levels required to service the production lines across the season 
•To help the Engineering department to minimize downtime & maximize the mixing process taking ownership of simple engineering tasks to build knowledge and experience moving towards self-engineering servicing.
•Pro-active approach to Health & Safety as a key focus of site and corporate strategy.
•To cooperate with NPD & process team in order to solve issues, drive improvements and achieve better results.
•Will be able to carry out performance improvements methods such as disciplinary and coaching for all personnel in the team.

To be considered for this role you’ll need:
•3-5 years supervisory / managerial experience. 
•Successful track record of working under pressure within a manufacturing environment. 
•Flexibility for shift working and going the extra distance to make sure tasks are completed.
•Flexibility to cover various shifts at short notice. A dynamic person with skills to cover Supervisors position for emergency requirements.
•Quality and food safety orientated 
•Focused on productivity, efficiency with labour & waste.
•Committed with can do/will do attitude 
•Good listener and problem solver with fair and firm approach 
•Good organisation and computer literate skills

The role will require you to recognise achievement and encourage individuals to give their best. You will have excellent communication skills together with a real ability to motivate your team to earn their respect by demonstrating an enthusiasm for making improvements. You will have a hands on approach, spending the majority of the time to direct and monitor the department personnel, following the plan to achieve the production required.
