KITCHEN ASSISTANTS – CANTEEN - SEASONAL / TEMPORARY BASIS
Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire
Salary: £8.95 per/hr.
Hours: 07:00 to 15:00 Mon to Fri
We are looking to appoint a Canteen Kitchen Assistant for a seasonal temporary period.
Working in a busy factory canteen feeding up to 200 to 300 customers per day. Duties will include sandwich preparation tasks, cleaning of pots, pans and cutlery, cleaning of kitchen equipment as per cleaning schedules, restocking of vending machines, serving customers and handling money via an EPOS till.
As you will be required to complete food safety records and handle money, general numeracy and literacy skills are required, as well as good communication skills.
Food hygiene is very important, so a basic food hygiene qualification level 2 would be essential likewise an understanding of workplace health and safety.
This is a busy canteen, so previous catering experience gained within a bulk catering kitchen would be preferred, together with the ability to work under pressure without supervision. Additionally, possessing a flexible ‘can and will do’ attitude, in return training will be provided and there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and develop your skills.
